Session 1: Introduction to Music as Medicine
This will involve a glimpse into the many therapeutic applications of music in healthcare, as well as an introduction to the regulated field of music therapy.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m an accredited music therapist and will be presenting for the first part of Session 1.
Our second speaker is Bev Foster, founder of the Room 217 Foundation. Their mission is to see music become an integral part of person-centered care, providing wellness, therapeutic benefit, improved quality of life, and meaning through all of life’s passages.
* This Speaker Series is open to anyone, so if you are interested in attending you are certainly welcome to (just fill out the RSVP form at the link above)
** This series seeks to bring together music therapists, neuroscientists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals who are using and/or researching music in the context of healthcare.
Thanks!
