Reflect on & Make a Documentary about Your Experiences!

This full-day workshop will engage students, trainees, and practitioners with various levels of experience in critical and personal reflection about their work in clinical settings. The first part of the day will focus on deep reflection, personal storytelling, and the interview process (in film). In the afternoon, participants will draw on these insights to create a collaborative documentary on the topic of “self care & resilience.”

The final piece will be edited by a TIFF facilitator and available for secure download within two weeks of the workshop’s completion.

Learning Objectives 

During this session, participants will:

Learn the basic creative and technical steps involved in documentary filmmaking

  1. Reflect on the role of film/arts in cultivating collaboration, sharing, and wellness
  2. Gain a deeper understanding of the ways in which they bring their personal selves to their professional work

Location: TIFF Bell Lightbox, Learning Studio A (Third Floor)

Cost: No Charge

No filmmaking experience necessary! Please register to ensure your spot. Priority will be given to medical students, residents, and physicians; however, there will be a waitlist for applicants from other clinical disciplines. Capacity is limited, so please confirm your availability before registering. Participants may be asked to appear on camera as part of the process.
