Family Medicine Forum Call for Abstracts
The call for abstracts for Family Medicine Forum (FMF) 2018 is open between December 15th, 2017 – February 15, 2018. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to this important topic and to advance the health humanities amongst your colleagues. Consider the question of how the humanities can be used in everyday practice as family physicians with patients, in our approach to learning, teaching and research and in our way of being. Mimi Divinsky Award for History and Narrative in Family Medicine
The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) accepts applications for the 2018 Mimi Divinsky Award between December 8th, 2017 – March 1st, 2018. The Mimi Divinsky Award for History and Narrative in Family Medicine recognizes narrative accounts of experiences in family medicine. This award is named in memory of Dr. Mimi Divinsky for her role as a pioneer in narrative medicine in Canada and is open to all CFPC members in good standing, family medicine residents, and medical students. Stories must be 1,200 words or less in length and may be submitted in English or French.
The award will be presented at the Awards Gala during FMF 2018, which takes place in Toronto, Ontario, from November 14th to 17th. The author of the winning story will receive complimentary registration for FMF for the day they receive their award, as well as up to $1,500 to offset the costs of travel and other expenses related to attending FMF 2018.
