The image of the “psych ward” in the popular imagination is still dominated by One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and melodramatic news reports linking mental illness with violence.  The reality of contemporary treatment for mental illness is far different, and Faceless (2011) offers a rare look at the day-to-day experience of being a psychiatric inpatient.
