These supports assist with a variety of concerns, including learner well-being, learner rights, and concerns around harassment and disability

University of Toronto Health & Wellness provides a range of health services for your physical and mental health, wellness programs and information to help support you in achieving your personal and academic goals.
Counselling/Psychotherapy and Referral Services
Learner Life Specialists (LLS) provide confidential individual counselling, system navigation and support to learners on both the St. George and Mississauga campuses. The primary goal of the LLS is to support learners through their academic journey. Learner Life Specialists often support learners with self-care strategies, relationship issues, and work/life balance. LLS’s are trained mental health professionals with graduate degrees in either social work, counseling psychology or occupational therapy. There is no cost to see a Learner Life Specialist.

University of Toronto Peer Support Service (MD Program, MD/PhD, Medical Radiation Sciences, Occupational Therapy & Physician Assistant Only)
Health & Wellness peer support is here to help. With a single click, chat with a trained University of Toronto student peer about whatever is on your mind, right away. Support is offered in a one-on-one, drop-in, non-judgmental, confidential and accessible virtual space. Peer support is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus who are physically located in Ontario. You don’t have to be on campus to access the service, but you must be in the province.

Physician Health Program
The PHP provides a range of direct services to their clients including physicians, residents, and medical students, and support services to family members. They can provide names of addiction professionals, psychiatrists, GP psychotherapists, private psychotherapists, couples counsellors and coaches. It is a confidential service.

CMA Support Line
The CMA support line is available to physicians, medical learners and their immediate family 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This free and confidential service provides both crisis- support and can help connect individuals with counselling.

CAMH for Health Care Providers
CAMH provides access to mental health and addiction supports for health care workers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes access to resources, psychotherapy and psychiatric services. Scroll down to the self-referral form.
